Our Groove A-Thon is in full swing. We would like to thank all of PTsO for all of their time and effort put towards this fun fundraising event. We are watching the weather and hoping for a nice sunny day.
Summit View is built on tradition, and we hold two annual fundraisers as part of our tradition. Our fall fundraiser money is earmarked for classrooms and students. In the fall we always use 100% of the fundraising dollars for classrooms and students. This year is no different. PTsO will be purchasing technology, classroom tools such as manipulatives and filling grade level wish lists. In the spring, the money raised is also earmarked. This means that 100% of money earned goes towards grade level aides, second specials and our specials program. Our PTsO does a great job of working with Summit View's Accountability Committee to determine school needs. Once it is determined where the money will go, we set our goal and Groove forward. We would like to thank you all in advance for participating in our Groove A-Thon.
Please get your envelopes in by Thursday, October 3rd
We would also like to thank Home Depot and Glidden for donating supplies and time to paint our school. We had over 80 parents and volunteers come together to help our teachers paint. What an amazing day it was. Also, the new furniture is working out wonderfully. Please remember that the money for the furniture was discovered as carry over dollars dating back to the renovation 5 years ago and was to be used for classroom building improvements. While observing the students with the new environment, teachers are witnessing a new found pride and ownership. The furniture has created group settings for collaboration, student engagement and has improved communication. Students are taking risks and loving learning. Please come in and volunteer and see the amazing things going on in the classrooms.
It is said that it takes a village to raise a child. As you can read, we are a strong community working together for our student success. We look forward to seeing you all at conferences.
Thanks for your Groovy Support
